What a Postpartum Doula Does
A Postpartum Doula does a multitude of things. We provide
evidence based information, nonjudgemental support for families and consult parents on breastfeeding and bottle feeding techniques and positions. We provide support services, we mother the mother, listen to what families have to say and if needed offer suggestions to issues that they may be struggling with, asking questions to help them decide what works best for them. We give praise to the parents for doing a good job and offer resources when needed. We teach child safety suggestions and help parents feel confident in their parenting
skills, giving them wings to fly with when we leave.
